General Secretary, Social Communications

Brief Historical Background

The commission of Social Communications is fundamentally concerned with communicating the Good News of Jesus Christ to the world through modern means of communication. Its main purpose is to coordinate, facilitate, promote, and support all communication activities within the Diocese.

In Fort Portal Diocese, the office dates back to the 1980s when it operated under the diocesan Social Development Office, headed by a lay representative. It emerged as an independent office in the early 1990s and has since been headed by a priest assisted by a nun. It serves as the official link between the Diocese and the outside world, managing information flow in both directions.
