Thirty –two Catechists from twenty of the thirty-Seven parishes in Fort Portal Catholic Diocese were commissioned after successfully completing their formation at St. Adolf Catechetical Centre in Kaihura, Kyenjojo District

During the commissioning Mass, Msgr. Isaiah Mayombo the Vicar General of Fort Portal called on the catechists to carry out the church responsibilities entrusted to them with dignity and faithfulness.

Msgr. Mayombo who described commissioning as rooted in Scripture, referring to Christ who commissioned his disciples, encouraged parish priests and the rest of the Christians to normalize recognizing the important yet be forgotten and overlooked and their contributions in the life of the Church.
